Kelp
Wandering along a beach there are unlimited natural treasures to be found washed up on the sand. Each object is unique and facinating. Equally facinating is the channels of water from changing tides that travel around these discarded new obstacles. 'Beachcombing' is a collection of mixed media illustrations focused on the natural interactions between unmoving natural objects and the constant flow of water and corrosion of sand around them.
This striking artwork is the first piece created in this collection of work. One piece of rubbery kelp, lying on the beach creating such a lovely organic form. A beautiful golden yellow.
