In November I was asked to be the guest speaker and model for City of Greater Dandenong's Cultural sketch night. I was honoured to be asked as it is such a fantastic program and a wonderful way to showcase artists within the community.
I was blessed with a full house that night which initally sounds scary but was put at ease by the genuine questions and interest of all who attended.

I also found I really enjoyed being the model for once (not nude) after all the years of being behind the easel. I discovered I was able to use my experiences to create some lovely poses for the group and recieved alot of wonderful feedback on my efforts.

Another element of the night was to compile a soundtrack of music to tie in with my story and art practice, this I found exceptionally enjoyable to do and worked on creating a mood for the group with the idea that the music may encourage the mark making.
It was extremely rewarding to share my artwork and story. It was also really fun (and slightly surreal) to see all these amazing drawings of myself from the eyes and easels of others.

In the end I felt 'celebrated' and after all my years of hard work, dedication and love for Dandenong Community Arts and for my own art practice it was a memorable and special night for me.

This looks so uplifting Jay!
